- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Katie -- Perfect End to an Incredible Trilogy : The world-building in this trilogy has always been incredible, but with this third and final installment Barker's writing matures even further as the plot revolves even more around the characters as flawed and complex humans. The heroes are less heroic and the villains are not strawmen, which makes for incredible storytelling. Could not have asked for a better ending. There was a lot of back stabbing in this book which was really heartbreaking but it made the story really interesting. After starting at 11pm and promising to stick to two chapters I thought I'd get a decent sleep. Nope. I read right through until 5am, had not even realised until I looked up and thought omg its light out there, and felt shocking all day.
